On 6 September 2013 and with great pleasure, the association “PeaceBread” (“Friedensbrot e.V.”) has received word that Croatia, the youngest EU member state, now also joins the “PeaceBread“ project.
The rye will be grown in Osijek, and the project will be administered by Mr sc. Ivan DURKIC, Institute for Seeds and Seedling Osijek of the Croatian Centre for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
On 16 September Mr DURKIC informed the “PeaceBread” secretariat that rye seeds had arrived from Berlin.
The non-profit association PeaceBread based in Berlin was created according to its statutes to
highlight and make a contribution to the reciprocal connection between peace keeping in Europe and the world and sustainable agriculture,
contribute to the commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain in Europe in 1989 and to refer to the new possibilities that were created by universal peace in Europe,
include partners from countries that joined the European Union after 1989 or have a membership prospect and therefore promote peace and the understanding between nations.
The members and the managing office of the Association PeaceBread are doing this on a honorary basis. The association acts independently in matters of organization and content
