The 12th Annual European Conference, “Resilience of Agriculture in Times of Crises,” from 6 to 9 October 2026, in Balchik, Bulgaria

With its 12th Annual European Conference, the International Network “Peace and Agriculture” continues its European dialogue on the role of agriculture in promoting peace, cohesion, and sustainable development. The conference will take place from October 6 to 9, 2026, in Balchik (Bulgaria), under the theme “Resilience of Agriculture in Times of Crises.”


The second Sourdough Camp (SDC) will take place alongside the annual conference. Through this format, the network aims to bring together young people from the agricultural sector and rural areas in particular, and to provide them with a space to actively engage with the future challenges of agriculture, peace, and European cooperation.

The Association PeaceBread

The non-profit association PeaceBread based in Berlin was created according to its statutes to

  • highlight and make a contribution to the reciprocal connection between peace keeping in Europe and the world and sustainable agriculture,

  • contribute to the commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain in Europe in 1989 and to refer to the new possibilities that were created by universal peace in Europe,

  • include partners from countries that joined the European Union after 1989 or have a membership prospect and therefore promote peace and the understanding between nations.

The members and the managing office of the Association PeaceBread are doing this on a honorary basis. The association acts independently in matters of organization and content
