Berlin, 09 May 2025 – As part of a ceremonial event in Ribbeck, Brandenburg, the association FriedensBrot honored Udo Folgart for his outstanding work and appointed him as a PeaceBread Ambassador. This award, the highest given by the association, honors Folgart’s commitment and his special contributions to promoting the PeaceBread idea.
Udo Folgart, long-standing President of the Brandenburg Farmers’ Association, former Member of the Brandenburg State Parliament, and Vice President of the German Farmers’ Association, served on the board of the association until mid-2024. Anton Blöth, Chairman of the FriedensBrot association, acknowledged Folgart’s tireless commitment to agriculture and to people in rural areas. He also emphasized Folgart’s talent for bringing people together across borders and cultures. Chairman Blöth especially thanked Udo Folgart for his prudent support in securing financial resources, his participation in international encounters, and his advice during the search for new management.
At the same time, the board of the FriedensBrot association honored the long-time managing couple Marion and Gibfried Schenk for their extraordinary services to the association and the development of the PeaceBread idea. “With great dedication and foresight, you have made PeaceBread what it is today: an international network that promotes dialogue across borders,” said Anton Blöth in his tribute.
The association sincerely and appreciatively thanked Marion and Gibfried Schenk for their wise leadership, heartfelt commitment, and tireless work, with which they have made PeaceBread a bridge between countries, people, and generations. Their work has brought forth a rich harvest of understanding, cooperation, and friendly connection, said the chairman, who also expressed his joy that both will continue to support the association and the international network with advice and active involvement.
