The Polish Minister Stanisław KALEMBA symbolically hands over a little bag of rye for „PeaceBread“ to the school in Suchowola

Principal Michał MATYSKIEL expresses his gratitude for the participation in the project

On 1rst June 2013, our school hosted an agricultural conference convened under the motto: “I am proud to be here”. It was the aim of this conference to demonstrate the advantages of the own regional home as well as presenting people who self-confidently decided to stay where they came from in order to prove that here, too, success and professional development can be achieved.

Among the guests were, besides others: Stanisław KALEMBA, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Members of the Board of Agricultural Agencies and agricultural producers. As special guests who created a very special atmosphere, Ewa KURYŁO and Piotr PREGOWSKI joined the event, both actors from the popular Polish comedy-series „Ranczo“.

The symbolic little bag of Berlin rye for the European “PeaceBread” arrived at Suchowola together with Minister KALEMBA. As the new school year begins, the rye shall be sown on the field in Suchowola together with grain from Okopy, the place of birth of blessed Jerzy POPIEŁUSZKO. Principal Michał MATYSKIEL publicly thanked the Minister for the invitation to participate in this project.

Participants of the panel discussion were:

Grażyna and Andrzej REMISIEWICZ: Owner of the “Trans Rol” Company and winner of the 2011 “Agro-Liga”, where the best farms in Poland are decorated,

Jan ZAWADZKI: One of the biggest milk producers in Podlaskie Voivodeship, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the dairy cooperative Mlekpol,

Mirosław ANGIELCZYK: Owner of the „Dary Natury“ Company, one of the biggest herb producing enterprises in Poland.

Our student Tomasz JAROSZEWICZ, Polish high-jump junior champion, was also supposed to participate in the panel. Unfortunately, he suffered a serious injury during the last track-and-field athletics in Warsaw. As a sign that we will keep our fingers crossed for his surgery and as sign of our support, we have handed over a commemoration-engraving to his parents. The sporting career of Tomek was presented by his trainer and our athletics teacher Eugeniusz Klin.

The pictures were taken by our student Joanna Wałuszko.
